Work History

Deb left ABC Radio in 2003 after 17 years, the last 9 of which were in Gippsland as Regional Manager. From 2003 to 2007 she took up a voluntary position as Station Manager of the newly licensed (Aug 2004)  Community Station Life FM Gippsland.  Deb facilitated the birth of this new station, and with her team developed the profile and on air “nuts and bolts”, but also led the way with the development of Policies and Governance.  She also led the team through two broadcast licence renewals. After working full time (half paid, half volunteer) from 2007 – 2015, Deb resigned from the station to “re-boot”.

Deb has won several awards during her career – two for Journalism while at University of Central Qld, two Victorian Community History Awards including Overall Winner 2003 and an Order of Australia Media Award. Deb also does voice over work, records family and community histories, facilitates meetings and conducts media workshops and offers bookkeeping services through her company Manna Media.
